The Frontline NPC Pack is a set of third-party NPC Classes and Templates for the LANCER RPG system.   Each class and template is the survivor of many rounds of playtesting, editing, tweaking, and on occasion complete redesigns - hopefully giving players the best experience possible.

My goal with making this pack is to offer an expansion to vanilla content that is balanced, engaging, and most of all fun to fight with and against.   Mechanics and weapons of the Frontline units are designed to be powerful in their niche, but with significant weaknesses that players can exploit to protect themselves or to destroy their enemies more efficiently.  Of course, while any individual unit can have its weaknesses, players must be wary of the GM combining classes and templates to make novel and dangerous enemy groups.

I call it the Frontline pack because a key goal was also to offer alternative 'standard' NPCs for GMs to use.  It's common to use the Assault-class NPCs as the most numerous 'regular' enemy in your first few fights. After that though I find GMs can struggle finding other NPCs to use that way. The Soldier and Insurgent in particular are designed to be usable in this role.

I plan to put out a PDF that not only has LANCER-standard sheets for each unit, but also contains commentary, strategies, and thoughts on the design behind each unit.  It is not ready yet though!

If you chip in some cash the 'Dev LCP' is also available. This is the current state of my work on the Frontline pack, and includes several NPC classes and templates that did not make the cut for public release.  Some of my favorites are in here, but they've either been recently redesigned and need testing or testing revealed flaws that need correcting.  So be a little wary if you use this pack!
